ABOUT SITE

The World Watch Monitor was first activated on the morning of September 11, 2001. Its primary purpose was to provide a timeline of events so that corporations and individuals could quickly and easily obtain an update of the ongoing situation. During its first 72-hours of operation, the World Watch Monitor received more than 1 million hits. In addition to providing a useful service to the community during a time of crisis, the transcript of the first World Watch Monitor now serves as a historical document, representing perhaps the only minute-by-minute timeline of the tragic events of September 11th.

Since then, the World Watch Monitor has been activated on only a handful occasions and is generally reserved for critical situations.
